Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse for our Operating Room team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background and demonstrate exceptional patient care skills in a fast-paced surgical environment. This role requires proficiency in various nursing practices, including but not limited to, aseptic techniques and patient assessment. The Registered Nurse will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standards of care for our patients undergoing surgical procedures.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Assist in the preparation of the operating room and ensure all necessary equipment is sterile and functioning.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and respond to any changes in condition during surgery.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Document all aspects of patient care accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Educate patients and their families about post-operative care and recovery processes.
- Maintain compliance with infection control protocols and hospital policies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to NCQA standards.
Qualifications
- Current RN license in the state of practice.
- Experience in an Operating Room setting is highly preferred.
- Proficiency with EMR systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Critical care experience is a plus; familiarity with acute pain management, trauma medicine, or emergency medicine is beneficial.
- Skills in IV insertion, medication administration, phlebotomy, and airway management are essential.
