Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Rural Health Medical Practice Manager to oversee the daily operations of our healthcare clinics. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of medical office management, and proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) and practice management systems.

This role involves managing staff, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and JCAHO standards, and optimizing the financial performance of the practice. The Practice Manager will serve as a vital link between clinical staff, administrative personnel, and patients to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Duties

  • Oversee daily practice operations, including patient scheduling, billing, and administrative functions
  • Manage fiscal responsibilities such as budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation
  • Supervise medical office staff, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and human resources functions
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations including HIPAA, JCAHO standards, and other legal requirements
  • Maintain and optimize electronic health records (EHR/Epic/eClinicalWorks) systems for accurate medical records management
  • Coordinate with clinical staff on patient care workflows, including nursing, acute care, critical care, and hospital experience as needed
  • Monitor practice performance metrics and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and patient satisfaction
  • Handle vendor relationships for medical software systems like Eaglesoft and Dentrix
  • Oversee billing processes related to managed care, insurance claims, utilization management, and coding accuracy
  • Ensure proper documentation of medical records and adherence to medical terminology standards
  • Develop policies for medical administrative support functions and clinic operations

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a Rural Health Clinic, medical office or healthcare management with a strong background in office management and practice administration
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, eClinicalWorks, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar platforms
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, JCAHO accreditation standards, and healthcare compliance requirements
  • Strong fiscal management skills including budgeting, financial oversight, and resource planning
  • Supervising experience managing teams within a medical or dental practice setting
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing medical records and administrative workflows
  • Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to various specialties including nursing, acute care, critical care, hospital settings, dental clinics, veterinary practices (preferred)
  • Ability to handle human resources functions such as staffing and employee development
  • Experience with managed care processes and utilization management is a plus
  • Professional certification or degree in healthcare administration or related field is preferred
