We are seeking a dedicated and skilled professional to join our team as a Cook. This role will follow recipes and / or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts and other foods for consumption by patients and visitors. The ideal candidate will the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Responsibilities
Follows recipes and / or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foods for consumption in eating establishments.
Prepares food by operating a variety of kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients, washing, peeling, cutting, and shredding fruits and vegetables, and trimming and cutting meat, poultry, or fish for culinary use.
Tastes products, reads menus, estimates food requirements, checks production, and keeps records to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment.
Follows food safety requirements. Ensure proper cooking temperatures are met.
Always provides the highest quality of service to customers.
Clean and sanitize workstations and equipment.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in the dietary department or as a dietary aide is highly preferred.
  • Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food handling within the culinary or restaurant industry.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
