Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join our healthcare finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accurate financial record-keeping in compliance with company policies and accounting standards. Duties

  • Process and verify invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies
  • Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly
  • Enter data accurately into accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Workday, or PeopleSoft
  • Prepare journal entries related to accounts payable transactions
  • Maintain detailed records of all payments and transactions for audit purposes
  • Assist with month-end closing activities including general ledger reconciliation
  • Support payroll management tasks using systems like ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure adherence to SOX controls and GAAP standards
  • Handle benefits administration and non-profit or governmental accounting tasks as needed
  • Conduct analysis of accounts payable data to identify trends or issues
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist with tax-related documentation when necessary
  • Support other accounting functions such as accounts receivable, bookkeeping, and HRIS data entry

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in accounts payable, bookkeeping, or related financial roles
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and general ledger accounting
  • Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Workday, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, Kronos, or UltiPro
  • Familiarity with payroll management systems like ADP or Paychex is preferred
  • Excellent analysis skills and attention to detail for account reconciliation and journal entries
  • Ability to perform 10 key typing accurately for data entry tasks
  • Experience working in corporate accounting environments including benefits administration or non-profit accounting is a plus
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
