We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse for our Emergency Room team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to patients in urgent and acute situations, working in a fast-paced environment within a Level I Trauma Center. This role requires strong clinical skills, the ability to make quick decisions, and a compassionate approach to patient care.
Duties
Assess and triage patients presenting with various medical conditions in the emergency department.
Perform physical examinations and document patient histories accurately.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including IV therapy and wound care.
Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
Monitor vital signs and respond promptly to changes in patient conditions.
Provide ostomy care and education to patients as needed.
Assist with laboratory tests and procedures, ensuring accurate results are communicated effectively.
Educate patients and families on health management, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Skills
Proficient in urgent care and acute care nursing practices.
Experience working in a Level I Trauma Center is preferred.
Knowledge of ICD-9 coding for accurate documentation of diagnoses.
Familiarity with dialysis procedures is an asset.
Strong assessment skills for conducting thorough physical examinations.
Ability to provide compassionate senior care when necessary.
Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with medical staff and patient education.
Strong critical thinking skills to make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.
